"Miss" (yeah, she was not married the last time I saw her in 1980) was my English teacher at Leuzinger in 58 and 59 I had her for Speech also in my Senior year. I was a real smart ass kid, and gave her a lot of grief , but for some reason we got along and she got me thru the senior term without major trouble. I did Army and college time then stayed back east more several years. I happened to come back to LA for a wedding in 1980 and crossed paths with her at Lawndale HS one day. We went out to lunch and played catch-up on the 20 years of news and names we could recall. It was a good meeting. Thats the only time I saw her and it really stood out in my memory. She was amazed that I had a grad. degree and was the Dean of Admissions at a State University in Kentucky at the time.--an over-achiever to be sure. Anyway I returned to SoCal in '86 but did not locate her or Mr Keys, another good guy from Leuzinger that went to Lennox and passed away before I could tell him how much he had done for me.. FYI Edith Chapralis- Born Mar 5 1924, died Jan 20, 2006 died in Simi Valley, but lived a long time in Santa Monica. No record of any marriage, and insisted on "Miss" when she was addressed by us. feel free to share any or all of this rambling with anyone interested in a story about a really fine teacher.
