Mr. Young was well admired and a beloved fixture on the Lennox High School campus from the first day school in September 1957, until it closed as a high school in June 1984, having taught Physical Education, History, and Drivers Education, as well as coaching football and tennis. He graduated with a B.S degree from the University of Southern California (USC) and served in the military during World War II. Unbeknownst to most of us, he was a well publised author on World War II, more specifically all that involved Japan. His writings are viewed as some of the most accurate and well written books on the subjects he wrote about. One historian gave him a four out of fives stars review because he enjoyed it so much, he felt it should have been twice as long. Mr. Young graduated from Inglwood High School in 1949 and went to USC on a baseball scholarship. He married Beverley G. Larsen on March 25, 1956 in Los Angeles, California. More information is being gathered to give a greater picture of the life of Mr. Young here in his memorial page. | |
