spent the first 25 years at home taking care of 6 kids
and then in the last 5 I've returned to the classroom as
a third grade teacher. We have 1 granddaughter so far.
With 6 kids, I'm expecting a large posterity! I followed
my husband around the world in the military. We retired
here in Colorado Springs. I want to share a couple of
instances that showed me this is a small world. My older
daughter works in Temecula, CA, and at church (Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) she ran into a woman
who bawled when she realized Melissa is Ramona's
daughter. She was Jeannie Johnson! Her sister was one of
my best friends since 3rd grade at Larch. Then, 12 years
ago while we lived on Ft. Carson, CO, I noticed a student
at Melissa's middle school had the same name as my little
sister's boyfriend, Lewis LaFever. Later, I found out at
a youth baseball game that Lewis' mom, Cindy, was from
Lennox, was a cheerleader with my little sister (who was
also homecoming queen---she got all the looks! :) ), and
she had married Lewis and named their son after her
husband. Is this clear as mud? Cindy said her husband,
the original Lewis LaFever had commented before on how
the little girl on the pitching mound (my daughter,
Melissa) looked a lot like his old girfriend (my little
sister!) I was always amazed that my daughter looks more
like my sister than me. Life sure is funny sometimes. Oh,
one more! We went to a stake conference meeting for
church in Kaiserslautern, Germany, several hours from our
home in Hanau, I had 2 kids and one in the oven at the
time. I was hot, tired, and uncomfortable, so I kept
getting up and down, disturbing the guy next to me. When
the meeting finally ended, he turned to me and asked if I
was Ramona Jones. I stared at him but couldn't figure how
he knew my name. He was Mike Hanson, who graduated a year
after me and we attended the same church as kids! When I
last saw him, he was a little guy, and then he was a full
grown man. Men look so much better as they get older! I
wonder how long this is. Anyway, please contact and
reminisce with me. One more thing, Mr. Finnegan's
daughter teaches in the same district as I do! It's a
