In Memory  1942 - 2018

With great sadness....
It is with heavy heart to let everyone know that Eric lost his battle with cancer last night . Eric had started hospice at home a few weeks back and was looking fairly strong despite losing some weight. He continued to work on little projects around the house not letting what was going on with his health slow him down.  With Eric being on hospice care Katy was able to catch up on some much needed rest which she will need now as sleep won’t come easy to her with the loss of her soul-mate.      Eric...

Let me introduce you to Eric, a Vietnam Vet and his wife Katy....

After retiring, you could find them in Everglades National Park, taking photos  or just enjoying a place very spiritual to them. You may also remember them from Shark Valley, doing a Tram Tour for you!

A continued  "raspy" voice became a concern however and upon examination revealed a tumor on Eric's voice box.

After going through many treatments and surgeries, Eric has now lost the ability to talk, taste, swallow and smell. He now receives nutrition and meds via a gastric feeding tube and breathes through a trachial tube in his neck.

Through it all though, Eric has maintained his sense of humor and optimism and his wife and soulmate,  Katy, has been by his side as caregiver 24/7  in and between hospitalizations.

Eric's last hope to regain any quality  of life will be to receive treatments of immunotherapy. This treatment does have a proven track record of shrinking and/or totally eliminating tumors that do not respond to any other forms of cancer treatments.  He will need 12 treatments, 3 weeks apart, at a co-pay cost of $1850 per treatment, plus there will be many out of pocket expenses, money Eric and Katy do not have.

They are two wonderful human beings loved by their children, grandchildren, and many friends and we hope you will find it in your hearts to help them  with any donations you can afford.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
